Seoul, August 10 (V7N): The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), led by Heo Eun-Ju, Regional Director of Global Region 3, successfully conducted an online Women’s Peace Education Completion Ceremony on July 26. A total of 61 women from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan graduated from the program, which was designed to nurture female leaders in peacebuilding and strengthen their ability to foster sustainable peace in their communities and beyond.

The virtual ceremony marked the culmination of an intensive peace education course that emphasized leadership, conflict resolution, community solidarity, and the core values of non-violence and mutual respect.

In her congratulatory speech, IWPG Regional Director Heo Eun-Ju said, “I sincerely congratulate all of you who have completed this course and thank everyone here for your passion and effort. I was deeply moved to hear how you adjusted your schedules and completed assignments despite the challenges and busy lives you lead. I hope you will continue to passionately nurture new peace education participants in your regions and carry out various peace activities together to achieve complete peace. When the women of our global village unite, peace is sure to come. What you have achieved today is a new starting point toward a better world.”

The ceremony also featured a keynote address from Batool Kazmi, last year’s Outstanding Peace Lecturer, who praised the graduates’ commitment to peace. “Completing this course means you have chosen the mission of leading, educating, and inspiring the world. The path we must walk together includes promoting fairness and understanding among communities, empowering women and youth through education and dialogue, and building solidarity beyond borders, faiths, and cultures,” she said.

Amber Shahzadi, Director of Academics at EQUIP School System and a graduate from Pakistan, shared a personal insight from the course: “The most memorable assignment was designing a family peace policy. With my family, we created a ‘Family Peace Tree,’ and my five-year-old daughter suggested the rule ‘showing respect.’ This activity reminded me that peace begins at home. Peace grows through loving actions, understanding words, and the effort to listen.”

Certificates were presented to participants who showed exceptional dedication through assignments and speeches. A special award was given to the IWPG Pune Peace Committee in India in recognition of their extensive outreach, which led to 70 new participants joining the education program and over 1,500 students taking part in the International Loving Peace Art Competition.

The ceremony concluded with a pledge by Ajuli Tulsyan, editor of Edge & Essence, who was appointed as a new peace lecturer. She affirmed her commitment to furthering peace education and advocacy in her region.

IWPG is an international women-led peace NGO registered with both the United Nations Department of Global Communications (UN DGC) and the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The organization operates in over 120 countries and actively promotes peace through education, global networking, women’s empowerment, and legislative advocacy for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).

With continued outreach in conflict-prone and post-conflict regions, IWPG aims to build lasting peace through the leadership of women and the education of future peace messengers.
