Rajshahi, Oct o5 (V7N) – Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang won 15 medals at the Club Cup Open Taekwondo Championship 2026 held at Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
The two-day national competition was organised by Mohammadpur Taekwondo Club with the support of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. Around 850 male and female athletes from 37 clubs participated in the championship.
Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang athletes won six gold, seven silver and two bronze medals in different categories.
Marin Ashrafi was among the top performers, winning gold in both the junior kyorugi under-46kg category and the junior poomsae 14–17 years category.
Anika also won gold in the junior poomsae 9–12 years category.
In the women’s events, Ira won silver medals in junior kyorugi under-46kg and junior poomsae 9–12 years. Anika won silver in junior kyorugi above 41kg, while Jafrin Zara secured silver in junior poomsae 9–12 years. Mounia won bronze in the junior poomsae category.
In the men’s events, Md Imtiaz Ali won gold in the 12–14 years under-47kg category, while Prince Adnan secured gold in the under-26kg category. Another Rajshahi athlete won gold in the 14–17 years kyorugi under-48kg category.
Tahsin won silver in the under-40kg category, while Prince Adnan also secured silver in the junior 6–9 years poomsae event. Zainab won bronze in the junior poomsae category.
Four officials from Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang also served as referees during the championship. They were Mumit Hasan Bright, Ashik Mahmud, Srabonti Islam Barsha and Md Ihteshamul Alam.
Mumit Hasan Bright, an international fourth-dan black belt and general secretary of the Rajshahi Divisional Taekwondo Association, served as an official referee. Ashik Mahmud holds an international second-dan black belt, while Srabonti Islam Barsha and Md Ihteshamul Alam hold international first-dan black belts.
The organisers said the championship provided athletes from across the country with an opportunity to compete at the national level. The strong performance by Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang is expected to encourage young athletes in the region to pursue further opportunities in the sport.
