Bournemouth, Sep 20 (V7N)- Alexander Isak scored the only goal as Liverpool secured a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth in the English Premier League on Sunday, giving manager Andoni Iraola his second league win in charge.
Liverpool struggled to create clear chances during a cautious first half at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth had one of the better opportunities, but Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson kept out Evanilson’s close-range effort.
The breakthrough came in the 57th minute. Cody Gakpo created the opening from the right, with the ball taking a slight touch before Isak finished from inside the area to put Liverpool ahead.
Bournemouth attempted to respond after falling behind, but Liverpool’s defense held firm. The visitors also came close to adding a second when Isak was denied by a defensive block.
The result extended Liverpool’s unbeaten start and gave Iraola a winning return to his former club. Liverpool also recorded their third consecutive Premier League clean sheet.
Liverpool moved into sixth place with nine points from five matches, while Bournemouth remained 17th and without a league victory.
