London, Sep 04 (V7N)- Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli has left English Premier League champions Arsenal to join Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal in a deal reportedly worth £60 million.
The 25-year-old winger joined Arsenal in 2019 as one of Brazil's most promising young talents. After seven years at the Emirates Stadium, his spell with the Gunners has now come to an end.
Martinelli had only 12 months remaining on his Arsenal contract. However, manager Mikel Arteta had indicated that the Brazilian was no longer part of his plans for the upcoming season, paving the way for his move to Saudi Arabia.
The winger enjoyed a productive campaign last season, scoring 11 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions. He also played an important role as Arsenal ended their long wait to reclaim the Premier League title, their first since 2004.
With Arsenal undergoing a restructuring of the squad for the future, Martinelli opted for a new challenge in the Middle East.
His arrival further strengthens Al Hilal's squad as the Riyadh-based club continues to attract high-profile players and emerging European stars.
