Kansas City, Jun 21 (V7N) – South American powerhouse Ecuador and Caribbean side Curaçao went into the halftime break locked in a goalless draw after an entertaining first 45 minutes in the 10th match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Group-stage encounter was played at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City on Sunday (June 21), where both teams created several promising scoring opportunities but failed to find the breakthrough due to poor finishing.

Ecuador, popularly known as La Tri, dominated possession from the opening whistle and attempted to dictate the tempo of the match. However, Curaçao's disciplined defensive organization and swift counterattacks repeatedly frustrated the South American side.

As the first half progressed, both teams managed to penetrate each other's defensive lines and enter the penalty area on multiple occasions. Yet inaccurate final passes and weak efforts on goal prevented either side from breaking the deadlock.

Despite an action-packed opening half, neither team was able to convert their chances, leaving the score level at 0-0 heading into the interval.

Both Ecuador and Curaçao will be looking for greater composure in front of goal in the second half as they seek a crucial victory in the tournament.
