Liverpool, Jun 03 (V7N) – Premier League giants Liverpool FC have reached a verbal agreement to appoint Andoni Iraola as their new head coach following the departure of Arne Slot, according to reports by the BBC on Wednesday.
The 43-year-old Spanish coach has emerged as Liverpool's preferred candidate to take charge at Anfield and is expected to sign a two-year contract with the club.
Iraola recently concluded a successful three-year tenure with AFC Bournemouth, where he guided the club to impressive Premier League finishes of 12th, 9th and 6th place. Under his leadership, Bournemouth also secured qualification for the UEFA Europa League for the first time in the club's history.
Widely praised for his attacking style of football and tactical flexibility, Iraola has earned recognition as one of Europe's most promising coaches. His achievements at Bournemouth significantly increased his reputation, attracting interest from several top clubs across the continent.
Liverpool's decision to appoint Iraola comes as the club begins a new chapter following Slot's departure. The Merseyside club will hope the Spanish manager can build on recent successes and lead the team to further domestic and European honours.
An official announcement is expected once the final details of the agreement are completed.
