Leipzig, Nov 18 (V7N) — Two months after a 2–0 defeat to Slovakia, four-time world champions Germany returned with a statement victory — scoring goal after goal to crush Slovakia 6–0 in a World Cup qualifier at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig.

Germany dominated from the outset, netting four goals in a relentless first half.

The breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Voltemud headed in a precise Joshua Kimmich cross. Serge Gnabry doubled the lead in the 29th minute, finishing calmly inside the box after latching onto a through ball from Leon Goretzka.

The hosts’ attacking pressure only grew stronger as Leroy Sané and Florian Wirtz combined brilliantly. In the 36th minute, Sané converted a stunning long pass from Wirtz, sending the ball into the corner of the net. Just five minutes later, Sané struck again, scoring his second from close range off another superb assist from Wirtz.

Germany added two more after the break. Substitute Ridle Baku, who replaced Kimmich in the 64th minute, took just three minutes to make an impact, firing a powerful shot into the net from a Gnabry pass.

The biggest cheer of the night came for debutant Wedraogor. The 19-year-old midfielder, brought on in the 77th minute for Wirtz, scored just two minutes into his first appearance. After receiving a pass from Sané, he curled a stunning shot past Slovakia goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka, sending the Leipzig crowd into a frenzy.

With the emphatic 6–0 victory, Germany secured qualification for their 19th consecutive FIFA World Cup — reaffirming their status as one of football’s most consistent powerhouses.
