Bihar, Aug 18 (V7N) – Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi commenced a 1,300-kilometer-long “Voter Rights March” on Sunday from Sasaram in Bihar. This 16-day march is designed to strengthen the opposition alliance known as the India Bloc, which is demanding transparency and protesting alleged vote rigging ahead of the state’s upcoming assembly elections.

The march is expected to traverse more than 20 districts slated for elections, concluding with a large public rally in Patna on September 1. Alongside Rahul Gandhi are prominent political figures including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that this campaign is not only a political protest but a larger fight to protect India’s democratic constitution and the rights of voters. He urged citizens to join the movement and raise their voices against any form of electoral malpractice.

The opposition alliance has raised serious concerns over the integrity of the election process in Bihar, alleging widespread irregularities and demanding stricter monitoring. The “Voter Rights March” aims to mobilize public support and create pressure on the ruling government to ensure free and fair elections.

This event has drawn significant media attention across India and is expected to influence the political discourse leading up to Bihar’s elections, highlighting the growing demand for transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
