Kyiv, Aug 17 (V7N) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of complicating the Ukraine conflict by refusing to agree to a ceasefire.
Zelensky made the remarks on Saturday (August 16), ahead of his scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, on Monday (August 18).
The Ukrainian leader criticized Putin for failing to reach an agreement during previous talks between Trump and Putin aimed at ending the war. Following those discussions, Trump’s position reportedly shifted from seeking only a ceasefire to pursuing a direct, permanent peace agreement.
