DHAKA, April 1, 2026 (BSS) — The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced plans to organize a women’s T20 tournament in May, aimed at providing competitive opportunities for first‑division women cricketers and ensuring continuity in domestic cricket.
The tournament, titled the BCB Women’s Cup T20, will be held from May 5 to May 14, featuring 112 cricketers from the first division. Each team will consist of 14 players, finalized through a players’ draft held on Tuesday to ensure balanced squads.
All participating cricketers will receive an honorarium of Tk 25,000, along with a daily allowance of Tk 800 throughout the tournament.
Officials said the initiative reflects BCB’s commitment to strengthening the women’s game by creating structured domestic competitions, which will help nurture talent and prepare players for higher levels of cricket.
