Dhaka, Oct 18 (V7N) — Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has returned home in Gulshan, Dhaka, following a routine medical checkup. She arrived at her residence in Firoza around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, after leaving Evercare Hospital earlier in the morning.

Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, said, “On the night of October 15, Madam Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital for certain medical tests as recommended by the medical board. The reports have been reviewed, and following the board’s advice, she has returned home.”

He confirmed that the 80-year-old BNP leader is in stable condition.

Earlier, on Wednesday night at 11:40 p.m., Khaleda Zia left her Gulshan residence for the hospital. She was admitted following recommendations from the medical board overseeing her treatment.

Khaleda Zia has long been suffering from multiple health issues, including liver cirrhosis, kidney complications, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.

On January 8 this year, she traveled to London, United Kingdom, for advanced medical treatment. She received continuous care at a London clinic for 17 days and later underwent follow-up treatment under the supervision of specialists Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross at the residence of her son, Tarique Rahman, on January 25. After completing her treatment in London, she returned to Bangladesh on May 6.

Her medical team continues to monitor her condition closely to ensure proper care and recovery.
