Dhaka, Sep 30 (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar has warned that the party will be compelled to launch street protests if the interim government fails to implement the people’s demands.

Speaking at a press conference in Moghbazar on Tuesday afternoon, Parwar urged that the next national elections, scheduled for February, be held in line with the July charter. Otherwise, he cautioned, Jamaat would pursue its demands through public agitation.

On the party’s symbolic identity, the Secretary General clarified that a Lego symbol shown at a Jamaat Ameer’s meeting was “only experimental” and not final. He added that the party’s earlier five-point demands have already gained wide public support. “The people will be on the streets in support of these demands,” he said, while announcing fresh programs to press for them.

According to the announcement, Jamaat will stage nationwide mass mobilization from October 1–9, followed by a mass procession on October 10. On October 12, party leaders and activists will submit a memorandum to district commissioners across the country.
