Dhaka, Sep 18 (V7N) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has consistently modernized itself to meet the demands and challenges of the time, outlining a 31-point policy program focused on education, healthcare, youth employment, climate change, and digital innovation.

He made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday (September 18) morning.

Tarique stressed that ahead of the national elections in February, one of BNP’s key responsibilities is to restore public trust, particularly among the youth. “BNP, as a democratic party, is reaching out from the grassroots to the center to reflect the hopes and aspirations of today’s and tomorrow’s young generation,” he wrote.

The BNP leader also revealed that the party has already taken organizational action against more than 7,000 members over allegations of corruption, extortion, and misconduct. Many were expelled or removed from positions, which Tarique described as “difficult but necessary decisions” to uphold accountability. “Discipline is not a weakness, but rather our strength,” he said.

He further stated that BNP is ensuring inclusivity in leadership by prioritizing the participation of women, youth, and professionals, aiming to establish the party as a “symbol of service, justice, and efficiency, not of division or privilege.”

Reflecting on BNP’s legacy, Tarique cited Ziaur Rahman’s role in restoring multi-party democracy and Begum Khaleda Zia’s uncompromising struggle against tyranny, adding that BNP is now moving into a “new era where honesty, young leadership, and global competitiveness will be the cornerstones of state-building.”

Concluding his message, Tarique urged party leaders and workers to remain united, disciplined, and committed to serving the people. “Only then will the path of democracy become brighter. Together we will prove that it is possible to build an accountable state system and a future desired by the people in Bangladesh, InshaAllah,” he wrote.
