Barguna, July 15 (V7N) — The National Citizens Party (NCP) organized a rally at the Barguna Municipal Market area on Monday, (July 14) evening at 6 pm as part of its continuous series of activities.

NCP’s convener Nahid Islam, central chief coordinator Sarjis Alam, co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Talat Mahmud Rafi, central organizational secretary Tasnim Zara, and other leaders arrived at the venue by 5:45 pm to participate in the event.

As Sarjis Alam and Talat Mahmud Rafi took the stage, local student activists in Barguna expressed their enthusiasm with chants of “Dulabhai Dulabhai,” quickly energizing the entire gathering.

Sarjis Alam has familial ties to Barguna; his father-in-law, Barrister Lutfor Rahman, resides in Lakurtola village of Gaurichanna Union, Sadar Upazila. However, due to professional commitments, Sarjis Alam lives with his wife, daughter, and two sons in Basabo, Dhaka.

Similarly, Talat Mahmud Rafi recently married in Barguna’s Burirchar Union. His wife, Jannatul Ferdousi, is a local school teacher and daughter of Zakir Hossain, a respected resident of the area.

In his speech, Sarjis Alam said, “Although my relatives are from Barguna, I chose to come here to stand before you all rather than visiting my family first. It is a privilege and honor to stand on this open platform among the student activists. On behalf of NCP, I send my love and gratitude to all of you.”

The rally marked another step in the party’s efforts to engage with communities and strengthen its grassroots presence in the region.
