Dhaka, Aug 6 (V7N) - Bangladesh received US$602 million in workers' remittances during the first five days of August, marking an 83.7 percent increase compared with US$328 million received during the corresponding period of August last year, according to latest data.
Expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$196 million in remittances on August 4-5 alone. Overall, remittance inflows reached US$3.461 billion from July 1 to August 5 of the current fiscal year (FY2026-27), up from US$2.806 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The latest figures indicate a 23.3 percent year-on-year growth in remittance inflows during the period, reflecting continued strong earnings from Bangladeshi migrant workers abroad.
