RAJSHAHI, Feb 4, (V7N) — Rajshahi University (RU) will observe a two-day holiday on February 11 and 12 in line with government directives issued on the occasion of the national election and referendum.

In addition, the university administration has instructed all academic departments to suspend examinations from February 9 to 15.

Professor Akhtar Hossain Majumder, administrator of the RU Public Relations Office, confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

He said the government has declared public holidays on February 11 and 12 through executive orders in view of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum scheduled for February 12, and the same directives have been communicated to the university authorities.

However, he added that no decision has yet been taken regarding the suspension of classes or the declaration of any additional holidays.

Earlier, the government announced a special holiday on February 10 for workers and employees in industrial areas.
