Dhaka, Sept 10 (V7N) – At the Physical Education Center polling station during the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election, students from Jagannath Hall, Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall, and Salimullah Muslim Hall cast their votes.
 
In the Jagannath Hall vote count, Abidul Islam Khan, the VP candidate from the Chatra Dal panel, secured 1,276 votes, while Islami Chatra Shibir’s candidate Sadik Qayem received 10 votes. Other candidates received votes as follows: Umama Fatema 278, Abdul Kader 21, Bin Yamin Molla 5, Shamim Hossain 171, and Tasnim Afroze Emi 11.
 
For the GS position at Jagannath Hall, Megh Mallar Basu received 1,170 votes. SM Farhad secured 5 votes, Tanvir Bari Hamim 398, Arafat Chowdhury 169, and Abu Baker Majumdar 27 votes.
 
Meanwhile, Abidul Islam Khan, VP candidate of Chatra Dal, rejected the election results during the preliminary announcement. At around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, he posted on his Facebook page stating, “I had anticipated this planned manipulation right after noon. Set your numbers as you wish. I reject this orchestrated farce.”
 
The announcement underscores the deep contention and allegations of vote rigging surrounding the DUCSU election, with students and candidates expressing distrust over the administration of the voting process.
