Khagrachhari, July 16 (V7N) — Arpan Dey, a student of Khagrachhari Cantonment Public School and College, has achieved remarkable academic success in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination by securing 1,252 marks out of a possible 1,300 in the science stream — a score that has drawn widespread admiration from teachers, peers, and the local community.

On the morning of the result announcement, Arpan shared that he was anxious about his performance. “I hoped for a good result, but I was unsure about the marks. Seeing the score made me genuinely happy,” he said after checking his results online.

Arpan lives with his family in a rented home in the Shantinagar area of Khagrachhari town. His father, Arbindu Chandra Dey (Babul), is a small businessman, and his mother, Shikha Dey, is a homemaker. Originally, the family hails from Dighinala upazila in the Khagrachhari district.

According to Arpan’s family, the supportive environment at school played a key role in his academic journey. Teachers at Khagrachhari Cantonment Public School and College described Arpan as a dedicated and attentive student who regularly sought help whenever he encountered difficulties in any subject.

“My son always followed the school’s academic guidance,” said his father, Arbindu. “The teachers were sincerely involved in his progress. At home, we just ensured he had a quiet and focused environment to study.”

His mother, Shikha Dey, expressed her joy at the result and emphasized that Arpan was self-motivated. “We never pressured him. He always showed interest in studying on his own. He also actively took part in essay competitions, olympiads, and co-curricular activities. We always encouraged him in those areas,” she said.

School authorities confirmed that teachers had given special attention to all SSC candidates this year, ensuring each student received the academic support they needed.

Arpan recalled moments of self-doubt before each exam. “I used to get nervous before every test, wondering what kind of questions would come. But my parents and teachers were always there to reassure me. I’m grateful to the Creator and to everyone who helped me reach this point,” he said.

Arpan’s achievement stands as a testament to the impact of a supportive home, dedicated teaching, and self-driven learning — an inspiring example for students across the country.
