Rajshahi, Jan 07 (V7N) — The temperature in Rajshahi dropped sharply by 3 degrees Celsius in a single day, falling to 7°C on Tuesday morning, causing severe discomfort for local residents. A cold wave accompanied by chilly winds has begun affecting daily life in the city.

According to the Rajshahi Meteorological Office, the lowest temperature of the current season was recorded at 7°C at 6:00 am on Tuesday. The city is currently experiencing a moderate cold wave. Humidity at the time was recorded at 100 percent, and dense fog reduced visibility to just 600 meters. Despite the foggy conditions throughout the morning, no rainfall was reported.

On Monday, January 5, the minimum temperature in Rajshahi was 10°C, while the maximum reached 14.8°C with humidity at 76 percent.

Local residents reported that daily wage workers, children, and the elderly are facing the most hardship due to the sudden drop in temperature and persistent cold winds. Authorities have advised vulnerable groups to take precautions and stay warm amid the ongoing cold spell.
