Dhaka, Dec 21, (V7N)— The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has successfully removed all forms of election campaign materials from its jurisdiction following the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliament Election and the referendum on the July National Charter 2025.1 According to a notification issued by the DSCC Public Relations Department on Sunday, the cleanup operation targeted unauthorized banners, festoons, posters, signboards, and leaflets. The initiative, which intensified after the Election Commission's (EC) 48-hour removal directive on December 11, follows an earlier public notice issued by the city corporation on December 2. DSCC officials confirmed that while the majority of materials have been cleared, monitoring and removal activities continue in all wards to maintain the city's aesthetic and environmental standards.

The city corporation has urged all political parties and candidates to strictly adhere to the "Political Parties and Candidates Code of Conduct, 2025," to ensure a disciplined electoral environment. The 13th National Parliament Election and the historic referendum on the July National Charter—which includes proposals for a bicameral parliament and term limits for the Prime Minister—are scheduled to be held simultaneously on February 12, 2026.2 DSCC has requested citizens to report any remaining or newly placed unauthorized campaign materials to its central control room at 02223386014. This cleanup effort is part of a broader national mandate to ensure a fair and festive atmosphere as the country prepares for its first general election since the July-August 2024 uprising.
