Dhaka, Jun 08 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metrorail resumed its operations at 8 am on Sunday (June 8), following a closure on the holy day of Eid-ul-Azha. However, strict instructions have been issued prohibiting the transportation of sacrificial animal skins, raw meat, or cooked meat within the Metrorail system.

According to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) sources, trains are currently running at 30-minute intervals today. Starting Monday, the Metrorail service will follow the government holiday schedule.

A circular issued by DMTCL Director (Administration) AKM Khairul Alam on Tuesday clearly states that passengers will not be allowed to carry any skins or meat—raw or cooked—onboard. Security personnel at all Metro station gates will conduct thorough checks, and anyone found carrying such items will be denied entry immediately.

The directive aims to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the Metrorail system during the Eid period. Security staff have been instructed to enforce the ban strictly to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for all passengers.
