Natore, Oct 26 (V7N) — Police in Natore discovered 13 tons of MP cartridges (empty shell casings) stored at the warehouse of Shihab Export and Import Agency in Ahmedpur Bazar, Borai Gram upazila. Authorities confirmed that the cartridges were legally procured for industrial use in a factory.
According to police and local sources, the MP cartridges were purchased from Rajendrapur Cantonment by the owner of Shihab Export and Import Agency, Mr. Shihab, via the parent company of MAB Construction. Locals who noticed the stock of cartridges reported the matter to the police.
Natore District Police Superintendent Tarikul Islam stated that police and army personnel visited the site following the report. He confirmed that the MP cartridges were bought in accordance with regulations and were intended for lawful industrial purposes. Mr. Shihab presented valid documentation proving the legal purchase, and no legal issues were found regarding the storage or transport of the cartridges.
The cartridges had been transported to the warehouse by truck the previous night and were secured for factory use. Authorities emphasized that all procedures complied with legal requirements and that the cartridges could be safely used in manufacturing processes.
This incident underscores the importance of proper documentation and coordination between law enforcement and businesses handling controlled materials.
