Dhaka, Aug 08 (V7N) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Shafiqul Islam has said it is not possible to keep the capital clean through the efforts of city corporation cleaning staff alone, stressing the need for active cooperation from residents.

He made the remarks while speaking at a special weekly cleaning drive titled 'City Waste Management Is the Responsibility of All of Us' on Saturday (August 8) morning.

Shafiqul Islam said maintaining a clean city requires collective efforts from the authorities and the public. He urged residents to become more aware of proper waste disposal and actively participate in keeping their surroundings clean.

The DNCC administrator also said that nine magistrates have already been appointed as part of efforts to strengthen measures against dengue.

Speaking at the event, Dhaka-18 constituency MP Jahangir Hossain said everyone must work together like a family to make Dhaka a more livable city.

He urged residents to raise awareness and strengthen cleaning activities to support the government's goal of building a green and clean city.

The special cleaning drive was organized to encourage greater public participation in waste management and improve cleanliness across the capital.
