Dhaka, July 27 (V7N)- The initial registration process for Bangladeshi pilgrims intending to perform Hajj in 2027 begins on Monday (July 27) and will continue until September 24, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The ministry said the schedule has been prepared in line with the Hajj roadmap announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia. Interested pilgrims can complete the initial registration through the e-Hajj system under both government and private management during the specified period.
Under the registration process, prospective pilgrims must first complete pre-registration by depositing Tk 30,000. They will then have to pay Tk 350,000 to complete the initial registration. Those who register initially must pay the remaining amount of their selected Hajj package and complete final registration by December 10.
Pilgrims choosing government management can register directly by creating a user account in the e-Hajj system. Registration services will also be available through Union Digital Centers, divisional and district offices of the Islamic Foundation, district and upazila model mosques, the Baitul Mukarram office and the Dhaka Hajj Office.
For government-managed Hajj, payments must be made through vouchers at any branch of Sonali Bank. Those registering under private management must deposit the required amount into the designated bank account of their selected Hajj agency. Agency account details are available on the Hajj portal.
The ministry said applicants must possess a passport valid until at least December 31, 2027. During initial registration, applicants must also select their preferred district for training and vaccination, the type of Hajj and their preferred Hajj package.
The ministry has also announced several health and age-related restrictions. Children under the age of 15 will not be eligible to perform Hajj.
In addition, individuals suffering from serious heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, or those undergoing chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy for cancer will not be permitted to perform Hajj.
People with active infectious diseases that pose a public health risk, including tuberculosis and hemorrhagic fever, will also be ineligible. Furthermore, women in the final two months of pregnancy or those with high-risk pregnancies will not be issued the required fitness certificate for Hajj travel.
