Dhaka, Jul 23 (V7N)- State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has said that the government is preparing a new policy for primary school teachers, which will include provisions related to teacher transfers and other administrative reforms.
He made the remarks at a program held at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Thursday (July 23) afternoon.
The State Minister said efforts are underway to implement the new policy between August and September. He added that the teacher transfer system has already been localized to improve efficiency and management.
Bobby Hajjaj also expressed optimism that significant changes would be visible in Bangladesh’s education sector within the next two years.
“There will be fundamental reforms in the country’s education system, and the government expects to present a revised national curriculum by early 2028,” he said.
The State Minister noted that political influence has negatively affected the education sector for many years. He said the government is now working on a comprehensive plan to ensure quality education rather than relying solely on GPA-5-based evaluation methods.
He also revealed that a pilot project for a mid-day meal program is currently underway. If the initiative proves successful, the program could be launched nationwide in 2027.
In addition, Bobby Hajjaj announced that a pilot project for distributing uniforms and school bags among primary school students will begin next August.
According to the State Minister, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to formally inaugurate the program.
