Chandpur, May 15 (V7N) – A festive atmosphere now prevails across Chandpur as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit the district on Saturday after a long gap of 22 years.
Extensive preparations have already been completed by the district administration, law enforcement agencies and other relevant departments to ensure the successful completion of the Prime Minister’s official visit.
Members of the Special Security Force (SSF), local lawmakers and senior district administration officials have already inspected various venues and program sites ahead of the visit.
The Prime Minister’s arrival has also generated significant enthusiasm in the political arena, particularly among leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies. Roads and important points across the district have been decorated with banners, festoons and billboards welcoming the Prime Minister.
According to officials, key events of the visit include inspection of the government’s priority canal re-excavation activities, distribution of family cards, and a meeting with party leaders and workers.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is also expected to provide directives regarding several ongoing and proposed local development projects during the visit.
