Dhaka, May 03 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday urged public administration officials to remain prepared to serve in any position and location across the country, emphasizing that no government or administrative post is permanent.
“Just as a government is not permanent, no post in public administration is permanent for anyone. Consider every post important and indispensable,” she said while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the four-day District Commissioners’ (DC) Conference at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.
The Prime Minister advised officials to stay mentally prepared to perform their দায়িত্ব at any time and in any part of the country, stressing the importance of adaptability and commitment in public service.
Referring to the February 12 elections, Tarique Rahman said the polls demonstrated that public opinion can be properly reflected when the administration functions effectively. “It is possible for public administration to conduct fair elections, and if it works properly, the people’s verdict is definitely reflected,” she added.
She further noted that every administrative position, whether for promotion or posting, holds significance for the state. Officials should not compromise professionalism in pursuit of preferred postings or career advancement.
“If officials compromise professionalism for promotion or posting in desired locations, they may gain temporarily, but it ultimately harms the efficiency and impartiality of public administration,” the Prime Minister warned.
The four-day DC Conference is expected to address a wide range of administrative and policy issues, bringing together field-level officials and top government representatives.
