Dhaka, Oct 25 (V7N) — Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar announced that new animals will soon be brought to the Bangladesh National Zoo as several existing animals have reached the end of their natural lifespan. She made the statement after visiting the zoo on Saturday afternoon.
Farida Akhtar described the National Zoo as a “priceless asset of the nation,” reflecting Bangladesh’s civilization, culture, and behavior. She emphasized the goal of developing a zoo that is not only beautiful but also educational and entertaining for all visitors.
Addressing visitor behavior, the advisor urged people not to tease animals out of excitement and called on zoo authorities to implement measures ensuring the safety and comfort of the animals.
She also noted a shortage of manpower at the zoo, assuring that the issue would be resolved soon. Additionally, Farida Akhtar hinted at upcoming plans to improve the overall environment of the zoo and stressed the importance of learning about animals while visiting.
