Dhaka, Oct 06 (V7N) – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has reaffirmed the Election Commission’s commitment to holding elections that are “as clean and transparent as a mirror.”

Speaking at a dialogue with media representatives at the Election Commission office on Monday morning, the CEC said, “The Election Commission wants to show the world that there is nothing hidden in our elections. We are committed to organizing fair and beautiful elections for the nation.”

He emphasized that ensuring a level playing field and a conducive electoral environment requires the active cooperation of all, particularly the media. “Electronic media must play a responsible role in preventing the misuse of AI during election coverage,” he added.

Nasir Uddin also announced that the EC is making arrangements to include expatriates and government employees in the voting process. “About one million government employees will be brought under the voting ambit this time. We want to conduct the entire process transparently, with everyone’s cooperation.”

As part of its ongoing series of dialogues, the EC will meet with women leaders and election experts on October 7, followed by sessions with July movement activists and political parties.

The CEC further said that the commission will implement the recommendations made during the dialogues to ensure broader participation and credibility.

The Election Commission began its nationwide dialogue series on September 28, starting with civil society members, intellectuals, and academics—though more than half of those invited were absent from the inaugural session.
