Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali has assured that the harmony among different religious communities in the country will be maintained during Durga Puja.

Speaking after visiting a Puja Mandapa in Banani on Wednesday afternoon, the DMP Commissioner said, “In this country, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians all live together in harmony. We will try to ensure that this harmony is not destroyed in any way.”

He also highlighted the additional security measures implemented for the celebrations, noting that no untoward incidents have occurred so far and that the Puja is progressing safely. The government has instructed that at least two members from each committee should be present at every Puja Mandapa.

Commissioner Sajjat Ali added that comprehensive security arrangements have been made for the idol immersion scheduled for Thursday.
