Dhaka, Aug 02 (V7N) – Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that secret meetings of various Awami League-affiliated organizations will not have any negative impact on the country’s overall law and order situation.

He made these remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital on Saturday (August 2).

“The activities of the Awami League have already been officially banned,” the advisor stated. “If anyone tries to engage in unlawful or conspiratorial activities under any pretense, they will not be spared. This applies equally to members of law enforcement if found complicit.”

When asked whether there was any fear or tension surrounding the events of August 5, he responded confidently, “InshaAllah, there is no reason to fear. The way all sectors are cooperating and supporting law and order measures, I don’t see any cause for alarm.”

Following his visit to the police station, the advisor also paid homage at the Rayerbazar graveyard, where he visited the mass graves of those martyred during the student uprising. He offered prayers for their departed souls and emphasized the importance of upholding the ideals for which they had sacrificed their lives.
