Dhaka, Jun 03 (V7N) – For the first time in Bangladesh’s history, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has launched a free training program for 6,000 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinees under its Skill Development Program.
The initiative was announced by Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Expatriates' Welfare Ministry, in a Facebook post on Monday.
According to the advisor, the selected students will receive training in computers, graphics design, and web development at various Technical Training Centers (TTCs) across the country. The goal is to equip young students with practical, job-ready skills that align with global labor market demands.
The training program was formally inaugurated on Sunday, with SSC examinees participating from Tangail TTC, Nagarpur TTC, and Kalihati TTC. Dr. Asif Nazrul was present at the inauguration ceremony.
“Without skilled human resources, it is impossible to perform well in the overseas labor market,” said Dr. Nazrul. “This is a preliminary step toward developing such a workforce.”
He further added that those who perform well in this course will be eligible for advanced training and job placement opportunities in the future.
This initiative is seen as a pioneering move to bridge the skills gap and enhance the global employability of Bangladeshi youth from an early stage.
