RAJSHAHI, April 21, (V7N) — The BNP has nominated Mahmuda Habiba for a reserved women’s seat in the National Parliament from Rajshahi.

Habiba, daughter of late Ayen Uddin, former MP of Rajshahi‑5, is currently the joint general secretary of the Krishak Dal central committee and a member of the Rajshahi district BNP convening committee. She is also active in the BNP’s media cell, playing a role in party propaganda, policy presentation, and media representation. Known as a female entrepreneur, she has been recognized for her organizational work within the party.

Her family home is in Kumarpara, in front of Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi city.

On Monday afternoon, BNP announced the names of 36 nominees for reserved women’s seats. The list includes senior leaders such as Selima Rahman, Shirin Sultana, Rasheda Begum Hira, Rehana Akhter Ranu, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Helen Zerin Khan, Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Zeba Amin Khan, Sabira Sultana, Sansila Zebrin, Sanjida Islam Tuli, Sultana Ahmed, Fahmida Haque, Anna Minj, Suborna Sikder, Shamim Ara Begum Swapna, Shammi Akhter, Ferdousi Ahmed, Bithika Binte Hussain, Suraiya Zerin, Mansura Akhter, Zaharat Adib Chowdhury, Momtaz Alam, Fahima Nasrin, Arifa Sultana, Sanjida Yasmin, Shawkat Ara Akhter, Madhavi Marma, Selina Sultana, Rezeka Sultana, and others.

Earlier, interviews of nomination candidates were held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Friday and Saturday, chaired by BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman. Party sources said that while 1,025 nomination forms were sold, about 900 candidates submitted their applications.
