Dhaka, Feb 09 (V7N)- Members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) have been instructed to perform their duties at polling stations impartially and courageously during the upcoming national election, said Ansar-VDP Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud.

He issued the directive while addressing an election preparatory rally of the Ansar and Village Defence Party at the Army Stadium in the capital on Monday (February 9).

The Director General said that Ansar-VDP members must not be intimidated by any form of pressure or threats.

“There is no fear even if terrorists try to create pressure. We must perform our duties bravely. In case of chaos, no one will leave the polling station under any circumstances,” he said.

He informed that a total of 556,127 Ansar-VDP members will be deployed across the country for election duties. Among them, the highest number—27,703 members—will be stationed in Dhaka.
Each polling station will be guarded by 13 trained Ansar-VDP members, he added.

Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud further said that the rally aimed to ensure impartial security at polling stations, prevent provocation or unrest, and strengthen coordination with the Election Commission and the Ministry of Home Affairs through a technology-based reporting system.

The Ansar-VDP chief reaffirmed the force’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful, fair, and festive election for the people of Bangladesh.
