Laxmipur, Oct 21 (V7N) – Prime Minister's Adviser for Public Administration and BNP National Standing Committee member Md Ismail Zabihullah has said the government is committed to maintaining religious harmony and establishing a merit-based administration.

He made the remarks on Tuesday while visiting Durga Puja mandaps in Lakshmipur Sadar, Kamalnagar and Ramgati upazilas, according to a press release issued here today.

Greetings and Party Meeting

He extended greetings to followers of the Sanatan faith on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja. On the same day, he also attended an exchange of views with leaders of the district, municipality and upazila BNP and its affiliated organisations.

Merit-Based Public Administration

Zabihullah said merit and competence were being prioritised in transfers, postings, promotions and recruitment in public administration. The government aims to build a merit-based Bangladesh, moving beyond past divisions and partisan considerations, he added.

No one would be deprived of a position or discriminated against solely because of religious identity, nor would anyone receive preferential treatment on religious grounds, he said.
