Dhaka, Oct 8 (V7N) – Modern machinery was inaugurated today at the Dhaka University (DU) Science Workshop premises aimed at modernizing facilities and enhancing operational capacity.

DU Treasurer Professor Dr M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury inaugurated the new equipment as the chief guest at a ceremony held on the workshop premises. Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr Md. Mofazzal Hossain, presided over the function, while Professor Dr Zulfikar Hasan Khan conducted it.

The newly added modern equipment spans several sections of the workshop:

AC and Refrigeration Leak detector machine Swiftly identifying and repairing refrigerant gas leaks in air conditioners, refrigerators, and deep freezers
Electronics and Research Support Digital oscilloscope Testing and analyzing performance of electronic circuits, electrical signals, and prototypes
Electronics and Research Support Coil winding machine Winding coils for electronic components and research purposes

Speakers expressed optimism that the addition of these modern technologies and equipment will enable university laboratories to execute research, technical support, and equipment preparation more rapidly and effectively. The upgrade is expected to enhance the workshop's capacity to support faculty and student research across various disciplines, including physics, chemistry, engineering, and materials science.

The DU Science Workshop serves as a central facility for the university's science faculty, providing technical support for research and teaching activities.
