DHAKA, Sep 13, V7N — A total of Tk 1,77,500 has been collected in fines from various households in some areas of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) after finding Aedes mosquito larvae.
As part of the three-month mosquito control programme, executive magistrates of DNCC conducted drives in different areas today and collected the fines for the presence of Aedes mosquito larvae.
During the drives, a total of 28 cases were filed in Mirpur-10, Rupnagar, Uttar Pallabi, Agargaon, Uttara, Nikunja and Baridhara areas over the presence of Aedes mosquito larvae.
The mobile courts were conducted under the leadership of DNCC-appointed executive magistrates Atis Dashi Chakma, S M Russel Islam Noor, Shariful Alam Tanvir, Pramath Ranjan Ghatak and Dedarul Islam.
Under the three-month programme announced by the Prime Minister on National Dengue Prevention Day, health department personnel, led by DNCC executive magistrates, will visit homes in different areas to conduct source reduction, larviciding, roof-garden inspections, public-awareness announcements through microphones, application of Novaluron tablets, distribution of leaflets and provide dengue-awareness guidance to students of various educational institutions.
