NETROKONA, SEPT 01,  (V7N) - A two-day training programme on public procurement and financial management for government officials concluded here yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner Khandakar Mushfiqur Rahman inaugurated the programme on Sunday at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.

A total of 40 officers and employees from 9th to 16th grades of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and subordinate Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) offices participated in the training organised by the district administration.

Subject-matter experts and resource persons, including Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Golam Mohammad Bhuiyan, Deputy Commissioner Khandakar Mushfiqur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) and Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) officials, conducted various sessions.

The sessions covered public financial management and procurement procedures under existing laws and regulations, including the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2006, Public Procurement Rules (PPR) and e-GP system.

Practical exercises were also conducted to familiarise the participants with public procurement processes and the e-GP platform.

Speakers at the closing session expressed hope that the training would enhance the officials' professional skills and help ensure transparency, accountability and proper use of public funds.
