Dhaka, Aug 9 (V7N) – Police have arrested 30 people allegedly involved in various crimes during a special operation in the Mirpur Model Police Station area of the capital today.
Mirpur Model Police conducted the operation as part of efforts to maintain law and order in the area, according to a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Police said the detainees include accused in regular cases and individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities. Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway. Police said such special operations will continue to maintain a stable law-and-order situation in the capital.
In a separate incident, police recovered a pistol and a revolver along with six rounds of ammunition from the Khilgaon area. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Shahjahanpur Police Station conducted a drive near Jhilpar Public Toilet and recovered the abandoned firearms at around 12:35 am, according to a DMP press release. Legal proceedings in this regard are also underway.
