Chattogram, Aug 5 (V7N) - State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has said that essential constitutional amendments will be made following discussions with all stakeholders.
He made the remarks while addressing reporters after paying homage to martyrs at the July Memorial in the New Market Square of the city, marking July Uprising Day.
The state minister emphasized that BNP is a party representing the people and will make decisions that ensure accountability to the populace. He noted that the inaugural meeting of the Constitutional Amendment Committee was held yesterday, led by the Home Minister and attended by the Law Minister.
Mir Helal said the government is committed to implementing the reforms promised by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The necessary reform proposals will be enacted through constitutional amendments after engaging in discussions with all political and social stakeholders.
Highlighting the sacrifices made by students, workers, and the general public to restore democracy, the state minister said the government is dedicated to achieving the objectives of improving living conditions for marginalized communities, establishing peace and order, and eradicating inequality.
