Aug 01, (V7N) — Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain has warned that doctors found guilty of negligence in duty or other irregularities will face strict administrative action, including dismissal from service and temporary suspension.

The minister gave the warning today during a surprise inspection of the Bhedarganj Upazila Health Complex in the district, said an official handout.

During the visit, he toured various departments of the hospital and reviewed its overall operations, including healthcare services, the supply of medicines, patient attendance, and the performance of doctors and other healthcare staff.

He also spoke with patients and their family members to learn about the quality of services they were receiving.

In addition, the minister exchanged views with the relevant officials on the hospital's existing problems, infrastructural limitations, and areas requiring further development.

Sakhawat asked everyone to perform their duties responsibly and ensure regular attendance at their workplaces.

He also urged doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers to be more accountable and dedicated to serving the public.

He said that improving the quality of healthcare services and ensuring access to quality medical care at people's doorsteps would require everyone to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and accountability.
