DHAKA, July 16, (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) will publish the final list of polling centres on August 27 for the upcoming local body elections to city corporations, municipalities, union parishads, and upazila parishads.
According to a letter sent to district election officers by EC Senior Assistant Secretary (Election Support-3) Md Rashid Mia, the commission has instructed authorities to prepare the final list after publishing the draft list, receiving claims and objections, and disposing of them in accordance with existing guidelines.
The commission has fixed August 10 for publication of the draft list of polling centres, while the deadline for submitting claims and objections is August 18. The EC will dispose of all claims and objections by August 23 before publishing the final list on August 27.
The letter also asked authorities to complete all necessary activities in line with the schedule and the Polling Centre Establishment Guidelines, and to send the final list to the Election Support-3 Wing through the respective regional election officers.
