CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, July 13, (v7n)– Six teachers of Chittagong University (CU) received the 'CU Best Research Article Award-2025' today at a ceremony organised by the university's Research and Publication Cell.
The award recipients are: Prof. Dr. Farzana Yesmen Chowdhury (Institute of Modern Languages), Associate Prof. Dr. Awlad Hosen Sagar (Finance), Associate Prof. Dr. Md Kowsar Alam (Physics), Associate Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kazim Noor Sohad (Anthropology), Prof. Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahamed (Electrical and Electronic Engineering), and Prof. Dr. Rumana Aktar (Psychology).
The programme, held at the Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries Auditorium, featured a research workshop alongside the award ceremony. CU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan attended as chief guest, with Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Amin and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Dr. Md. Safiqul Islam present as special guests.
Prof. Forkan said such recognition encourages researchers, inspires new research, and enriches the university's research culture. "Achievements in research, internationally recognised publications, and knowledge creation form one of the strongest foundations for strengthening the university's position in global rankings," he added.
Prof. Al-Amin noted that while significant research is being conducted at CU, greater emphasis should be placed on research that offers new directions for the country, contributes to policymaking, and provides effective solutions to real-world problems. Prof. Safiqul Islam said such recognition boosts researchers' confidence and inspires new innovation, enhancing the academic environment and CU's image.
The programme was chaired by Director of the CU Research and Publication Cell Prof. Dr. Tanvir Mohammad Hayder Arif, with welcome address by convener Prof. Dr. Sheikh Aftab Uddin and session conducted by Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir. Deans of various faculties and other senior faculty members were also present.
