June, 18 (V7N) - State Minister for Road Transport and Highways Habibur Rashid said today that the government is working to improve transportation and communication systems across the country in line with its commitments. Speaking after inspecting the Ichhapura and Nagarpara Balu bridges in Rupganj Upazila, he assured that infrastructure development would continue to meet public expectations.  

He referred to the under-construction Kayetpara–Nagarpara and Rupganj–Ichhapura bridges, noting that these projects have long been demanded by local residents. He added that certain groups had delayed progress for various reasons, but the government remains determined to complete them.  

The minister emphasized that balanced development across all regions is a priority. He said discussions will be held with relevant authorities to take necessary steps for expediting the completion of both bridge projects.  

State Minister for Shipping Md. Razib Ahsan, Members of Parliament SM Jahangir Hossain, Munshi Rafiqul Alam Majnu, and Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan Dipu, along with local BNP leaders Golam Faruk Khokon and Advocate Mahfuzur Rahman Humayun, were present during the inspection.  

Later, at the Tarabo Municipal auditorium, rickshaw vans and goats were distributed among beneficiaries, reflecting the government’s commitment to supporting local communities alongside infrastructure development.
