DHAKA, June 7, (V7N) – Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon today left Dhaka for China on an official visit at the invitation of the Chinese government. Before his departure, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on the Information Minister at the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
During their brief meeting at the airport, the two sides held discussions on various issues related to the visit. The Information Minister will participate in the '5th CMG Forum' organized by China Media Group, scheduled to be held from June 8 to 11.
During the visit, an important bilateral meeting between the Bangladesh Information Minister and the Chinese Information Minister is expected to take place. The high-level meeting is expected to include fruitful discussions on cooperation in information management and media sectors between the two countries.
Other topics on the agenda include the development of digital communication systems and information exchange between the two nations. There are also plans for policy-level discussions regarding the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bangladesh and China on information management.
The visit reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China, particularly in the information and broadcasting sectors. The minister is expected to return home after completing his official engagements in China.
