BHOLA, May 28, (V7N) – Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, has expressed optimism that democracy will gain permanent shape under the current BNP-led government, ensuring that no citizen faces persecution for political beliefs.

Speaking after Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the central Eidgah ground in Lalmohan upazila, Hafiz said: “Citizens are enjoying freedom of speech and there is no fear among them since the current government assumed office. This is the benefit of democracy.”

He urged affluent people to share the joy of Eid with the underprivileged, stressing that a democratic government must reflect the hopes and aspirations of the people. Hafiz added that under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s leadership, the government is dedicated to the welfare of ordinary citizens.

The Speaker noted that the dreams of the Liberation War have not yet been fully realized, but after many struggles democracy has returned to the country. He also referred to the global situation, alleging that Muslim nations are suffering oppression from superpowers and facing international conspiracies.

Local administrative officers, political leaders, activists, and devotees were present during the Eid greetings exchange.

This statement underscores the government’s narrative of democratic consolidation, linking domestic freedoms with broader global challenges faced by the Muslim world.
