CHATTOGRAM, March 16,  (V7N) – The Nephrology Department at Chattogram Medical College (CMCH) Hospital has expanded its capacity with the installation of four modern dialysis machines, bringing the total to 18.  

The machines, funded by KSRM, were inaugurated on Monday at Ward No. 17 in a ceremony attended by City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain as chief guest. KSRM Deputy Managing Director Nabab Sirajuddaula was present as special guest, while the event was chaired by CMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin.  

Mayor Shahadat Hossain said the new machines will make treatment for kidney patients more accessible and efficient, while Brigadier General Taslim Uddin noted that the additions will allow more patients to receive high-quality care daily.  

The inauguration was also attended by CMCH Vice-Principal Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rob, Nephrology Department Head Professor Dr. Nurul Huda, and leaders of the Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB), including Dr. Tamiz Uddin Ahmed, Dr. Fayezur Rahman, and Dr. Belayet Hossain Dhali.  

Dialysis services in Chattogram

- CMCH Nephrology Department: Now has 18 machines.  

- Sandor (private provider): Operates 31 machines.  

- Nephrology Department (other facilities): 14 machines available at subsidized rates.  

Together, these facilities are strengthening dialysis services in Chattogram, offering both public and private options for patients suffering from chronic kidney disease.
