DHAKA, Mar 11, (V7N) – A Dhaka court today fixed April 2 as the deadline for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to submit its further investigation report into the sensational murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order after the CID failed to submit the report today.

On January 15, the court directed the CID to conduct further investigation after the complainant filed a naraji petition expressing dissatisfaction with the charge‑sheet submitted by the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Earlier, on January 6, DB Inspector Foysal Ahmed submitted a charge‑sheet against 17 accused, including alleged shooter Foysal Karim Masud and his parents Humayun Kabir and Hashi Begum.

According to the case statement, Masud and Alamgir Hossain opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery‑run auto‑rickshaw on December 12, 2025, before fleeing. Hadi later succumbed to his injuries on December 18.

Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14. Initially lodged as an attempted murder case, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code on December 20 following Hadi’s death.
