FEB 12 (V7N) -The final results from all 182 polling centres in Cox’s Bazar-3 constituency show a decisive contest between BNP and the 11-party alliance. BNP candidate Lutfor Rahman Kajol, running on the Sheaf of Paddy symbol, secured 181,407 votes. His closest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Shahidul Alam Bahadur, contesting on the Scales symbol, received 152,994 votes.

Kajol won by a margin of 28,413 votes, overcoming what had been expected to be a fierce battle between two heavyweight contenders. Despite predictions of a neck-and-neck race, the BNP candidate ultimately prevailed.

Cox’s Bazar-3, a high-profile constituency in the tourism hub, witnessed strong voter turnout throughout the day. Long queues at polling stations reflected public confidence in the electoral process. In particular, Ramu and Eidgaon areas saw a significant wave of support for the Sheaf of Paddy, contributing to Kajol’s victory.
