Dhaka, Jan 25 (V7N) — Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin has said that the Election Commission (EC) will take all necessary measures to ensure that voters can come to polling centers and cast their votes peacefully and safely.
The CEC made the remarks while speaking to reporters on Sunday after briefing diplomats on the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections and referendum at the Election Commission building in Agargaon, Dhaka.
He said the Election Commission is making maximum efforts to ensure voter security and create a conducive environment for free and fair elections. According to him, representatives and diplomats from various countries expressed satisfaction with the overall election preparations taken by the EC.
“All activities of the Election Commission—from the beginning to the present—were highlighted during the discussion,” the CEC said.
AMM Nasir Uddin also said that discussions were held with ambassadors of different countries on issues related to fair and credible elections. He expressed hope that voters would be able to exercise their voting rights this time in a festive and fear-free atmosphere.
Earlier, the Election Commission held a meeting with diplomats from all foreign missions operating in Bangladesh at the ballroom of the Westin Hotel in Gulshan from 10:00 am on Sunday. The meeting focused on the EC’s preparations, transparency, election management, and international observation of the upcoming parliamentary elections and referendum scheduled for 2026.
